Computer Information Systems:
The Computer Information Systems curriculum emphasizes a systems approach to problem solving and evolves with the changing needs of business and technology. Students examine technical challenges within the context of the work environment. They learn the importance of being good communicators, team players as well as the skills needed to respond to the complexities of evolving hardware and software.
Computers, Electronics and Networks:
Our programs train students to install, maintain and repair electronic, computer, robotic and network systems. Typically, the prerequisites for these courses are high school algebra and strong reading skills. Students make extensive use of practical, hands-on learning and model real-world applications to prepare them for employment upon graduation.

    Trains technicians to be capable of installing, troubleshooting, upgrading, and repairing computers. Courses cover computer software, hardware and networking essentials. At the completion of the program a student should be able to prepare for and take the following: A+, Network+, Server+, and the wireless CWNA.

    Trains a student in basic computer networking concepts, wireless network administration and wireless network security. Students will develop the skills required to install, configure, administer, secure, maintain and troubleshoot wireless computer networks. Helps prepare students for the industry certification exams, Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) and Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP).

Today’s business environment is competitive, demanding, and ever changing. Every program is designed to give students the skills employers’ value: critical thinking, communication, teamwork, management and technology. Students can customize certificates and degrees based on their job experience and goals. They can build a foundation to qualify for entry-level management positions, or take a specialized program to upgrade to a higher-level position.
English as a Second Language:

    The Adult Basic Education ESL program provides ESL classes to non-native English speaking immigrants and citizens. Learn listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Computer Science:
Gain the skills needed to create excellent computer programs and earn the wages of a valued computer programmer. Our courses teach both theoretical programming concepts and practical programming skills, along with the methods of programming development required by software companies.
Accounting:
There is unlimited career potential in both the public and private sectors for individuals with accounting knowledge, combined with computer skills.
Business Information Technology:
Employers look for employees who have a variety of skills such as: keyboarding/typing, communication, computation, computer proficiency, human relations, problem solving, and organization and management.
Business Degree with Specialization:
The Business Associate of Technical Arts Degree is designed for students with limited work experience who are interested in a career in business. It requires introductory level course work in the areas of communications, quantitative skills, human relations/group interaction and business in addition to the specialized accounting classes listed and an internship.
Associate of Science Degree:
Designed to prepare science majors for transfer to a four-year college with junior standing. Most coursework is in specified mathematics and sciences requirements. The state’s two-year and four-year schools developed transfer agreements that allow students from a community college to transfer at least 90 credits (60 semester credits) to a four-year college or university. The degrees satisfy some – or all – general requirements for a bachelor’s degree.
Hospitality and Tourism:
Gain the expertise and skills necessary to become part of the fourth largest industry in the nation. Work for travel agencies, cruise lines, tour companies, or hotels. Or, work as a meeting, event, or wedding planner. Earn a one-year certificate, a two-year degree, or even transfer to a four-year university and earn your bachelor's degree.
Engineering:
The art of applying scientific and mathematical principles, experience, judgment, and common sense to make things that benefit people.

Emergency Management:

    The Emergency Management, Certificate was developed due to the high demand for trained professionals in this field. This certificate program provides education and training for individuals currently working in the emergency management field and for students desiring to work with national and state workplace safety and health standards in this field.

Horticulture:
A horticulture career offers creative and technical challenges that provide lasting professional and personal rewards. Job placement rates remain consistently high.
Fire Officer Degree:
The Washington State Fire Service Education Association helped develop this degree. Most students are professional or volunteer firefighters who seek career advancement. The program provides training and education to ensure fire officers have the technical skills necessary to meet the needs of today’s fire service leaders.
Social and Human Services:
The Social and Human Services programs provide quality education and training to students who seek to begin or enhance a career helping people. Career opportunities include working as youth counselors, case managers, employment specialists, drug and alcohol counselors, respite care specialists, horticulture therapists, and in the field of gerontology.
Visual Communications:
Visual communications specialists are the computer wizards who add oomph to video games, the Internet, and magazine and television graphics. Employers look for skilled designers who can turn creative ideas into powerful images, meet deadlines with creative solutions and stay on the job until it is done. Students learn to work alone and as part of a production team.
Educational Paraprofessional:
This program is designed for educational assistants and instructional aides who desire to continue their education and improve and validate their skills and knowledge as Educational Paraprofessionals. The Educational Paraprofessional Certificate program is a contractual educational program, therefore students must be employed by a school district that has contracted with the Edmonds CC's Lifelong Learning to provide courses for their employees
Early Childhood Education:
The program supports the development of teachers of young children, ages birth through eight years. Many graduates are community leaders in serving children and families. Coursework strengthens theoretical learning with a high level of skill development and practical application for beginning and experienced educators. Completion of the degree or certificate meets professional standards in various early childhood education settings.

    Provides the learning opportunities necessary to prepare students for entry-level career positions in early childhood (infancy to third grade) program settings. Coursework taken to complete the Early Childhood Certificate can be applied toward the Early Childhood Education ATA degree.

Arts Now:
Arts Now ArtsNow is a new non-credit arts program at Edmonds Community College. Our goal is to nurture artistic spirit from creation to commerce in the visual, literary, performing, media, and language arts. We offer exciting arts classes, business training for artists, lectures on the arts and art on exhibit.

Culinary Arts:
Employers, large and small, are actively recruiting career oriented, trained employees in the fast-growing field of culinary arts. The program combines classic cooking methods with regional flair while giving students the skills they need to run a profitable business. Students receive hands-on experience in campus restaurants and have the opportunity to cater and prepare food for college and community events.
